Kort Builders, Inc., primary goal is serving the Developer and Commercial Build-Out industry with high-quality construction and project management services. Bob has two decades of experience in a wide range of construction services, including renovation of existing facilities, tenant build-outs and the construction of new buildings and additions. His background includes many projects in the medical, corporate, nonprofit, retail, restaurant and multi-family arenas. As President of Kort Builders, Bob is responsible for the oversight of all company management, including new business development, sales, client relations, business planning and the development of Kort Negotiated & Design/Build projects. He is personally involved in working with prospective owners in order to get their project to the construction phase in the most expedient manner.

Bob, while a student of Indiana University, School of Business, formed Bob Kort & Associates offering services in landscaping, painting and construction, in the late 1980’s. In 1993, Kort Builders was incorporated as the successor to Bob Kort & Associates and began specializing in full service commercial construction. An active person in the business community, Bob was a recipient of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s 2001 “40 Under Forty” award. He continues his education with seminars and course work in a variety of industry related disciplines. While Bob oversees operations, he has never lost his enjoyment of the physical art of constructing a building. Even today, he still takes on an active role in the project management for Kort Builders.

Bob believes that one of the cornerstones of success is not only developing, but also maintaining long-term relationships, which come through achieving a level of mutual trust and respect.

 
STEPHAN A KORT, CPA
CFO AND CO-OWNER OF KORT BUILDERS, INC
Steve’s areas of responsibility are all administrative and financial matters at Kort Builders, Inc., including funds management, insurance coverage’s, surety and bonding, banking relationships, legal and accounting relationships, financial budgeting and planning, and regulatory and tax compliance.

Steve is a graduate of the University of Omaha with a Degree in Business Administration (Major in Accounting). He practiced Public Accounting for twelve years following graduation. Steve has specialized in closely-held business ownership and management for over thirty-five years including ten years as a practicing CPA specializing in small and closely-held businesses, and over twenty-five years as an owner-manager of several businesses including a company that owned and operated a chain of restaurants (19 units), a company that distributed and serviced industrial products, a residential real estate company and Kort Builders. Steve was named Indiana Small Business Person of the Year in 1981 and was appointed to the Indiana Small Business Advisory Board by the Small Business Administration.

 
JEFFREY J MORONE, BSME
OPERATIONS MANAGER AND CO-OWNER OF KORT BUILDERS, INC

Jeff’s area of responsibility is overseeing all production with involvement in estimating, budgeting, scheduling, safety and overall project management. Jeff’s operations and production responsibilities facilitate close interaction with clients, from pre-construction services through move-in and post-construction needs.

Jeff graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME). Jeff started his construction career in 1989 as a Mechanical Engineer for a major elevator manufacturer, Fujitec America, Inc., in Lebanon, Ohio, and was promoted by Fujitec to marketing and sales for the Dallas, Texas area office. After five years with Fujitec, Jeff accepted a position as a Project Engineer with Austin Commercial, Inc., the largest GC/CM construction company in North Texas with operations throughout the nation. During his five-year tenure with Austin, Jeff’s responsibilities included MEP Coordinator, Project Administrator and project Controls Manager. Jeff worked on projects ranging in value from $2.2 million to $550 million that included a childcare facility, hospital expansion, semiconductor manufacturing facilities, and a recycling steel mill and other commercial projects for both local companies as well as Fortune 500 companies.

 
JIM BRIDENSTINE
SENIOR ESTIMATOR
Jim serves as Business Development Manager and Senior Estimator for Kort Builders, Inc.

Jim is well-versed in all construction services including owner negotiations, contract preparation and administration, scheduling, design/build administration, and value engineering. He plays a large role in building and nurturing relationships with many of our customers.

Jim graduated from Indiana University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. He began his construction career with Skinner & Broadbent Construction, now S&B Construction. During Jim's tenure with S&B, he worked on numerous projects such a Greyhound Plaza shopping center, Kohl's Department Stores, Kroger grocery stores, Office Max stores, and various other retail, restaurant and light commercial projects. During his tenure as an assistant superintendent and assistant project manager, Jim was able to gain valuable experience from the field and office operations.

After three years at S&B, Jim wanted to develop sales experience to enhance his skill set. He joined a well respected manufacturing rep firm in Indianapolis as a sales rep covering all business activities within Indiana.

After a successful sales career in the manufacturing rep business, Jim decided to pursue his passion for construction and joined Kort Builders in November of 2004. As a member of the Kort Builders team, Jim strives to enhance client relationships and contribute to all facets of the organization.

JEFF (JR) REYNOLDS
SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Jeff (JR) is a senior project manager for Kort Builders', responsible for managing production on multiple projects. JR coordinates and manages all aspects of project production including estimating, scheduling, subcontracting, materials acquisition, interacting with clients, supervising project personnel, and closely monitoring all critical aspects of production.

JR is a seasoned manager with over two decades of experience in construction and operations management. He began his career in construction at a young age working in residential construction in his family's organization, literally learning the business from the ground up.

JR attended college in his home state of Georgia, graduating from Dekalb College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. While attending college, JR formed his own construction contracting company in 1983. Following graduation, he accepted a Superintendent's position with a local custom home builder in the Atlanta area, Fuqua Construction. In 1984 Centex Homes rolled out their town-home division and asked JR to introduce the product and run the division. Jeff Reynolds Properties, Inc was later founded; a residential custom home builder. Wanting to move his family to Indiana, JR joined the Indiana management team of United Parcel Service in 1988. While at UPS, JR was recognized, both internally and publicly, for his managerial accomplishments and integrity.

After fifteen successful years in transportation management, Jeff made the decision to return to his heart's true passion: Construction management. In 2005 Jeff joined Elmore Construction as a Project Manager, responsible for the management of multiple tenant build out projects ranging in size from 1,500 to 14,000 square foot facilities as well as managing a $1.75 million addition to the Plainfield Bible Church. Additionally he oversaw the construction of numerous upscale custom homes for Elmore. Desiring to expand his career in commercial construction, JR joined the Kort Builders team where he is involved in developing and maintaining our Company's core values, long term relationships, and enhancing the mutual trust and respect that our clients have come to expect.
